Hot off the press at PAX East is the announcement that Gearbox Software, in partnership with publisher 2K, has officially kicked off  “The Year of Borderlands”. What does this means exactly? Well, by far the most exciting is the official confirmation of Borderlands 3, and the very first gameplay footage trailer. Check it out:

Also part of “The Year of Borderlands” is a brand new remastered edition of the original Borderlands, called Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition. This edition launches with brand new weapons, substantial visual upgrades (up to 4K), quality of life improvements, all four add-on packs, and more. Even better, the game launches next week, 3 April 2019, to be exact, on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Here is the official trailer:

Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel also got some love and a free ultra HD Texture Pack for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection on consoles, as well as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 2 on PC, will also launch April 3.

Last, but not least, all Borderlands 2 DLC will be added to Borderlands 2 VR for PlayStation VR for free this summer.

If these announcements are anything to go by, it is indeed The Year of  Borderlands.
